NSCD alumna commissioned for RDC Youth
2014 NSCD graduate Shelley Eva Haden has been selected to choreograph a new bespoke piece for RDC Youth. The commission is a product of #ENHANCE, an exciting new project developed by RDC Youth, with support from Arts Council England which aims to give their talented young dancers an insight into the running of a professional dance company.
The innovative idea meant the dancers could shortlist, audition and interview for a choreographer to create a new piece of dance, to be showcased later this year. Choreographers Carlos Cortes, Jane Coulston, Sarah Rodgers and Shelley Eva Haden were all shortlisted, with each leading a master class for the dancers to evaluate and score. Shelley has been chosen to choreograph the new commission.
Shelley recently toured with Rosie Kay Dance Company as a female soloist in “5 SOLDIERS”- a five star production which is nominated for a National Dance Award as well as appearing on numerous ‘best of 2015’ lists.
