Take Thou That perform Beowulf

Alumni round-up – August 2018

Nathan Johnstone (LCDS) and Stefano di Renzo (National Centre for Circus Arts) are touring Belly of the Whale with Ockham’s Razor, performing this month at Stockton International Riverside Festival, Aberystwyth Arts Centre, The Albany, Millfield Theatre Edmonton, and Lift Off!

Rambert dance company perform special commission Rambert x Gaika for the Wilderness Festival, Oxfordshire on 4 August. The company features dancers Sharia Johnson, Adam Park, Stephan Quildan, Kym Sojourna (Rambert), Pierre Tappon, Nancy Nerantzi (LCDS), Brenda Lee Grech and Jacob Wye (Central School of Ballet).

Choreographer Rosie Kay (LCDS) presents Modern Warrior at Just So Festival, 18 & 19 August, and Lift Off!, 26 & 27 August. The company features dancer Jake Nwogu (Central School of Ballet).

Afolabi Alli, Josh Finan and Luke Newberry (BOVTS) feature in the RSC’s The Merry Wives of Windsor at the Royal Shakespeare Theatre, 4 August – 22 September.

Rosy McEwen (BOVTS) features in the RSC’s Tamburlaine at the Swan Theatre, 16 August – 1 December.

Christopher Schutt (BOVTS) is Sound Designer for Aristocrats at the Donmar Theatre, 2 August – 22 September.

Edinburgh Fringe

Following this year’s West Country tour, BOVTS second year student company Take Thou That! take children’s show Beowulf to Edinburgh Fringe, performing at Underbelly, Bristo Square 3 – 17 August.

Maanuv Thiara (BOVTS) features in Lung Theatre’s Trojan Horse, at Summerhall from 1 – 26 August.

Robert Turton (BOVTS) is Lighting Technician for the Assembly Rooms.

Joseph Lee Wai-Nang (LCDS) presents Folding Echoes at Dance Base, on 14 – 19, 21 – 26 August.

2Faced Dance presents What The Moon Saw at the ZOO Southside, 12 – 26 August, with Kai Tomioka (CSB, NSCD), Louis Parker-Evans, Jason Boyle (NSCD) and Jack Humphrey (LCDS).

Hanna Moisala (National Centre for Circus Arts) presents WireDo at C Venues, 2 – 13 and 15 – 27 August.

Vendetta Vain (National Centre for Circus Arts) facilitates Damn Everything But The Circus: Discussions, at the Fringe Central, 7, 14 and 25 August.

Barely Methodical Troupe (National Centre for Circus Arts) present Shift at Underbelly’s Circus Hub, 4 – 25 August.
