Four second year Central School of Ballet students – Olivia, Karya, Erin & Jessica – appeared in English National Ballet’s production of Kenneth MacMillan’s Manon in its opening week in London. Manon comes to the London Coliseum following a tour to Manchester, Milton Keynes and Southampton. The students performed the roles of beggars during the run of shows.
This was a wonderful opportunity for the students to gain professional performance experience. Student Erin said: “Taking company class alongside the professional dancers has been a great privilege. I have particularly enjoyed the sense of unity amongst the cast during the rehearsals, and it has been so fun to embody a character and the story with the whole company. I have learned how every role in a production contributes significantly to the telling of the story.”
