As part of the 2012 City of London Festival, dancers from three of the Conservatoire’s dance schools – Central School of Ballet, London Contemporary Dance School, and Northern School of Contemporary Dance – came together with students from Trinity Laban to perform as part of Four Corners. Featuring a large ensemble of dancers selected from the four schools, the project included an intensive three-day dancers’ induction held at Laban.
Students performed individual pieces on site-specific locations before coming together for the finale on the steps of St Paul’s Cathedral.
Central School of Ballet performed Aravind – The Lotus choreographed by Nina Rajarani MBE on the Millennium Bridge.
London Contemporary Dance School performed Camaleao/Chameleon choreographed by Ponciano Almeida (who also choreographed the finale) in the Festival Gardens.
Northern School of Contemporary Dance performed Selling Your Soul to the Urban Devil choreographed by Gemma Harrison, Kinga Jaczewska, Jessica Mahy, Eve Stainton, Jason Boyle & Luke Rigg in Paternoster Square.
