Inaugural Staff Conference

Monday 24th April at the RSA

The event was well attended with approximately 100 teaching staff attending from all 8 Conservatoire schools. Topics discussed included sharing good practice, future joint performances, peer observation, student collaboration, co-ordination of alumni networks and the development of a Conservatoire intranet.

The day kicked off with an inspirational key note speech by Dame Liz Forgan who has been a Board member of the Conservatoire since its infancy. Staff also had the opportunity to watch the DVD film produced by Lois Keith which features interviews with a selection of disabled students who are currently studying or have recently graduated from Conservatoire schools.

The evening reception was well attended and speeches from Sir Bob Reid, Richard Wilson and Shobana Jeyasingh were all well received. The evening was an opportunity for everyone to discuss the day more informally and to meet with other important figures within the industry and vocational education sector to spread the word of the high quality work being done in the Conservatoire.
