DLHE: Graduate Survey

What will you be doing on 12 January 2017?

12 January 2017 is the DLHE census day for anyone who completed a higher education course between 1 January and 31 July 2016. If you recently completed your training at one of the Conservatoire schools, your school will be in touch between 10 November 2016 and 7 March 2017 to find out what you will be doing on this day – whether working, in further study or something else. Your input is vital.

Destination of Leavers from Higher Education (DLHE) captures information on student activity after they have graduated.  All students are asked to complete the survey six months after they complete their training.

Make sure you tell your school

Your school will send you a link to the online survey, which should take a few minutes to complete. You may also be contacted by telephone.

Remember, the definition of work (full-time or part-time) according to the survey includes self-employed/freelance, voluntary or other unpaid work, developing a professional portfolio/creative practice or on an internship. This includes the following:

  • Taking part in or observing professional classes, training or rehearsals
  • Researching and developing your own creative or technical work
  • Attending auditions or interviews
  • Teaching / delivering workshops / assisting in the delivery of these
  • Unpaid work placements
  • Taking part in platforms or attending seminars related to your discipline

When can I complete the survey?

You can complete the survey at any time during the collection period (10 November 2016 – 7 March 2017 for the January census date). However, please let us know what you will be doing or were doing on the specific census date: 12 January 2017.

Complete the survey now by visiting the link below:

How will my information be used?

The information you provide is anonymised and is used to inform higher education policy as well as prospective students. Data is used in anonymised form in the Key Information Sets which display on course pages, as well as on the Unistats website. It will not be possible to identify you from any published data.

For more information about how this information is used, please see the HESA website.

DLHE is designed and controlled by the Higher Education Statistics Agency (HESA), who require every institution to achieve a response from 80% of their UK full-time graduates each year.
